HISTORY & MILESTONES

Taybah Education Centre was first established in the city of Leicester in the year 2000. The masjid was situated on Sylvan Street in Highfields, a predominantly Muslim area in the city. The masjid was converted from a rented factory unit and included a men’s prayer area, a women’s prayer area, a library and wudu facilities. The large numbers of worshippers attending the masjid eventually led the committee to decide on moving to a larger building to accommodate the growing community and offer further communal services.

Taybah Education Centre was relocated to St Saviours Road in the city of Leicester in the year 2007. The new building, which was purchased, provided a larger prayer hall and wudu facilities for both men and women and ample space to offer madrasah services to the community. A further building, attached to the Masjid was purchased in 2013 in order to provide better facilities for the Madrasah children. Furthermore, the site offers numerous car parking spots around the neighbouring streets.
